Chris Pirillo
Creative Entrepreneur
Bio: As a YouTuber, tech conference organizer, and former cable TV show host, Chris has had a diverse career in technology and media. He created LockerGnome, a technology advice publication that launched as a mailing list in 1996– and has since evolved into a vibrant online community. From 2001 to 2003, he co-hosted Call for Help on TechTV, a show that blended tech support with reality-style television. Today, he is a passionate 3D printing enthusiast, technologist, and content creator.
On the art of the internet: Chris is currently building an online arcade (of sorts), showcasing his love for crafting unique software experiences with “vibe coding.” His projects range from practical tools, like a virtual body double for Zoom calls, to nostalgic creations, such as a customizable Star Wars opening crawl generator.
On getting unstuck: “I try something I don’t normally do. Stepping outside my comfort zone sparks new ideas and perspectives, whether it’s experimenting with a new technology or tackling a creative challenge.”
On pixels to printers: A prolific vlogger, Chris has uploaded more than 8,700 videos to his YouTube channel, covering tech reviews, tutorials, and personal vlogs. He channels the same enthusiasm into 3D printing, both original designs and commissioned works for clients and fans.
On livestreams: A few years ago, Chris launched MakerDeck, a 24/7 livestream that connects makers worldwide. The Twitch stream features up to 10 makers simultaneously, showcasing their projects side by side. In 2026, Chris is looking to produce a large-scale maker event for the Pacific Northwest here in Issaquah.
On creative community: “My audience is an incredibly wide array, spanning different interests and platforms. They’re drawn to my work for various reasons, which can be both a challenge and a strength. Building a community around a ‘cult of personality’ means constantly adapting to evolving needs, expectations, and interests.”
On local hidden gems: “Hidden gems? Yeah, my geocache! You may have found it already?”
